About: These design boards were created in fulfillment of PLAN 504 - Community Design as a part of the Master of Community Planning program at Vancouver Island University. The project required re-imagining a public space within the City of Nanaimo and illustrating the changes you may make. The subject site was a small car-free space next to an affordable seniors housing building and Buttertubs Marsh. My vision was to create a community-designed space with low-barrier and easy-to-implement changes to add vibrancy and bring use to an otherwise forgotten space.
